The Singh Twins: Art in Motion
27/3/2009 to 24/5/2009
This retrospective exhibition will feature selected works by internationally acclaimed contemporary British artists, The Singh Twins.
Their work is beautiful, thought-provoking and often provocative, challenging stereotypes and confronting generally accepted perceptions of heritage and identity in art and society.
As well as an opportunity to see some of their best known paintings, such as From Zero to Hero (the portrait of the Beckhams as ‘The new Royal Family'), other highlights include a representation of their most recent piece, Art Matters: The Pool of Life, commissioned by their home town of Liverpool for its European Capital of Culture celebrations last year, and two short films produced and directed by the twins.
The Singh Twins will discuss their inspirations, themes and development as artists at an Artists Talk on Thursday 30 April, 7 - 8pm at Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum. Entry is £3 per person, please call 01926 742700 to reserve your place.Location: Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum Dates: 27 March to 24 May 2009Website: www.warwickdc.gov.uk
