Training in Collections & Preservation

ASHT has put together a bespoke two day training programme in partnership with the Victoria & Albert Museum, London one of the world's most visited museums and extravagant South Asian collection.

If you have an interest in learning about museum collections and how to look after private collections, this is the perfect training course for you! Learn how to preserve collections, handle ancient objects and visit the major V&A exhibition ‘The Maharaja' for free.


Monday 30 November 10.00 am - 4.00pm

Introduction to V&A, Viewing collections and Object handling (photographs books and prints, textiles, metalwork, guns and swords)

Tuesday 1 December 9.30 am -13.00pm

Basic Preventative Conservation
2pm - 5pm Tour of The Maharaja exhibition
