Beyond the Clash of Steel
A lecture which recounts the initial forging and development of the Anglo Sikh relationship;
to steadfast allies some 10 years later during the troubled times of the Indian Mutiny (War of Independance).
The Prisoners Song
In 1916 during WWI German scientists made an 80-second audio recording of a Sikh soldier captured at the Battle of Flanders. The starving soldier Mal Singh, yearns to return to his home in the Punjab, the "land of butter and milk." His story is recounted, together with the role of the Indian Army during WWI.
