London Mela 2004
15/8/2004 to 15/8/2004
The Anglo Sikh Heritage Trail is set to burst onto the London scene by featuring alongside the V&A at the Heritage Maidan of the GLA London Mela.
The London Mela burst onto the scene in 2003 as the most significant South Asian festival in Britain, presenting a rich tableau of colour and creativity. This year it promises to be even bigger and better comprising everything from classical music to cutting edge urban grooves, traditional dance to carnival, and mainstream pop to stand-up comedy.
The Mela will feature artists from the UK and the subcontinent and involve all of Londons Asian communities, featuring work inspired by and originating from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the global Asian Diaspora.
The Mela is a festival for everyone. A spectacular occasion for all the family.
