For centuries British observers have commented on the unique spirit of brave gallantry which defines the Sikhs as amongst the finest soldiers in the world. This illustrated talk by the Sikh academic Harisimran Singh will examine the origins of this martial tradition and focus on the life and martyrdom of one of the most revered and iconic heroes of Sikh history - Baba Deep Singh. This will be the 9th lecture in the “ Portraits of Courage” series hosted in association with the Imperial War Museum.
