9/11/2008 to 9/11/2008

In co-ordination with the Royal British Legion, the Sikh community in 10 separate locations in the UK formally took part in this year's Remembrance Day ceremonies. Sunday 9th November saw Sikh men and women being warmly received by local residents as they joined in to lay wreaths. Alongside the traditional wreaths and wooden crosses , the "Khanda " insignia of the Sikhs served as a silent yet poignant reminder of the joint struggle and sacrifices which united those of all faiths in the silence of death.

The locations included: Lichfield, Warwick, Leamington, Banbury, Walsall, Slough, Dagenham, Preston, Wolverhampton and Southampton.
